We are thankful to A8 for inviting Fabian Borg, the head of the Research Innovation Unit, to RInnoValleys’ Peer Learning Event and for providing us with the opportunity to share our knowledge of climate action with the audience.
RInnoValleys is a project funded by the European Union, aiming to transform regions into innovation valleys. Aiming to enhance the innovation capabilities of EU regions by creating a joint transnational action RInnoValleys plans to connect with the European Innovation Council (EIC) ecosystem. The European Innovation Council is vital for fostering innovation and supporting cutting-edge technologies. However, numerous regions encounter barriers like limited funding, weak infrastructure, and underdeveloped innovation policies. RInnoValleys aims to bridge this gap by enhancing capabilities and fostering inclusive, gender-diverse, and connected innovation ecosystems, setting the stage for long-term change, requiring the implementation of an action plan to establish new practices and ensure continued progress. The project ensures the involvement of key innovation players from government, academia, industry, and civil society, promoting inclusivity across all EU territories, including rural areas aligning regional innovation policies with the New European Innovation Agenda.
