On June 9-12, 2022, members of the Research Innovation Unit and the rest of the JUSTNature project team and sister projects VARCITIES and SciCulture shared a booth at the New European Bauhaus Festival in Brussels.
The Research Innovation Unit, on behalf of the Gzira Local Council, presented the interventions in the research and implementation of VARCITIES, JUSTNature and GoGreenRoutes, i.e. projects funded by the European Commission Horizon 2020 programme.
“The New European Bauhaus is a creative and interdisciplinary initiative that connects the European Green Deal to our living spaces and experiences”
For the best of three days, the numerous people attending the booth had the opportunity to learn more about the locality of Gzira and try the interactive web app on display that showed the heat map and the Urban Heat Island of Malta. The team manning the booth illustrated how everyone could live in better, greener public spaces through participatory urban-planning games, Virtual Reality Simulations, and workshops.
